Barbara Magana Robertson is the owner of Magana Media, a boutique public relations firm,
that thrives on making the media work for her clients, including the Fort Bend County
Fair and Rodeo. She is a proud second-generation supporter of the Fort Bend County
Fair. As a rancher’s daughter, and life-long Texan, Barbara grew up participating in
the Fort Bend County Fair’s livestock shows and as a Rodeo competitor, she is an
advocate of rodeo and the western lifestyle. Her career began at NBC Houston,
where she spent nearly 20 years striving for “real” journalism. As Assignment Manager
at KPRC-TV, she covered many national news stories including, the September 11
attacks, Oklahoma City Bombing, Shuttle tragedies, and many more. She created the
first social media accounts for NBC Houston.
She and her husband, Bill, work together every day, and have not yet killed each other!
They have overseen successful local, state-wide, and national social media and
traditional media promotions, political campaigns, and crisis communications.
The Fort Bend County Fair celebrates 86 years this year. As an organization, the fair
has given back to the youth of our community through its scholarship programs,
and auctions, and has continued to create an experience for all to enjoy. Barbara is a
spokesperson for the fair, Chairperson for the Exceptional Rodeo ( A rodeo for special
needs children) & the Speaker’s Committee, a contributor to the Fort Bend Buyer’s
Group, and is a Life Member.
