Kathy Mize was sworn in as The National Exchange Club’s 100th National President in July 2020. Prior to being elected in 2019, she served as Region 9 Vice President.

Kathy joined Exchange in 1995 and is a member of the Northeast Exchange Club of St. Petersburg, FL, and the Harbor Exchange Club of North Pinellas, FL. At the national level, Kathy has served on the National Exchange Club (NEC) Foundation Board of Trustees and has been active on numerous NEC Foundation committees. She has earned several awards, including the 2011 National Exchange Club Member of the Year. She was previously employed as a national staff member and an Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center Director. Kathy has recruited dozens of members into Exchange and has been a new club builder.

Kathy is a native of St. Petersburg, FL, and received her graduate degree in social work from the University of South Carolina. Kathy has focused her entire career on protecting children and strengthening families. She began as a caseworker in 1988 and has held numerous supervisory and administrative roles. In 2009, Kathy had the opportunity to help establish Ready for Life, Inc., which serves young adults who are preparing to “age out” of the foster care system. It is her desire to prevent child abuse, strengthen families, make our community better, and bring awareness to these issues faced by youth “aging out” of foster care.

A second-generation Exchange Club member, Kathy has two daughters who were also raised in Exchange Club activities. Kathy is the daughter of Past National President Jim Brown, so The National Exchange Club truly is a family legacy.
