Pastor John Strader, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, has been a beacon of faith and service from a young age. With a passion for service that transcended domains, he pursued and excelled in culinary arts, graduating from a culinary school after high school and serving as a chef for seven years. However, his calling to nurture souls was undeniable, leading him to t surrender to ministry and attend seminary, a decision that not only shaped his spiritual trajectory but also his personal life, as it is where he met his beloved wife, Amber.

With a degree in missions and the Bible, Pastor John was ordained in 2013. His ministry began when he embraced the call to the mission field with his wife in Kenya, East Africa. During their five years, they saw the flourishing of faith communities along the Kenyan coast through the establishment of new churches and the training of Kenyan pastors

In 2019, Pastor John was called to lead Horizon Baptist Church in Missouri City, Texas, as the Senior Pastor. His tenure is marked by a heartfelt desire to see congregants deepen their relationship with Christ.

Beyond his pastoral duties, Pastor John is deeply engaged in the Fort Bend community. He chairs the board for the Fort Bend Interfaith Community, where his ecumenical spirit fosters unity and collaboration among diverse faith groups. His commitment to ethical stewardship is evident through his service as a commissioner on Missouri City’s Ethics Commission, ensuring that the community's leadership remains accountable and transparent. Moreover, his compassion extends to tangible action as a board member for the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, where he helps address the physical and material needs of the underserved.
